How to create a BI Solution in Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Analysis Services).
Azure Analysis Services.

Azure Container Service - from zero to hero.

Windows 10 IoT Core.

          Abusing Azure Functions.
Many of us had at least heard, someone maybe even tried to work with Azure Functions - a serverless platform in Microsoft Azure cloud. From the first glimpse it looks great and even I started to feel a strong desire to rewrite all my Web APIs using my new "favorite framework of the day". At some point it may seem like a lot of benefits, but Azure Functions is just a tool. As any other tool it has usage scenario for which it was designed. And, to benefit from it, you need to know what those scenarios are and to be able to use the tool properly. During this talk I will go through common mistakes of misusing Azure Functions, misunderstanding serverless architecture and suffering from continuous pain till the end of times.

How Far Can ‘Serverless’ Actually Go?
Azure Functions are getting a lot of traction, which is completely understandable in the fast-paced world of applications developed using Agile methodologies. Comparing the world of IT and software development today with the one 10 years ago, when we knew not only what operating system our application was going to run on but also the exact part number of the server that was running the workload, we can only conclude that PaaS infrastructures have made great progress and moved far ahead! But how far? How far can you go and how far is actually advisable to go when it comes to externalizing your infrastructure, anyway? Throughout this fast-paced advanced talk we will take the real microservices approach and develop a full application, top-to-bottom using Azure Functions. Seatbelt buckled yet?

The promise of “the cloud” is that you can get as much as you want, when you want it, and only pay for what you use. But is that the reality? The reality of inconsiderate usage that leads to exorbitant costs is more common than you think. That is why at this session you will see techniques - and even some hacks - that bring the promise of the cloud to life. This presentation is a practical look at real world Azure stories that will answer many of the questions people have about moving to the cloud and getting the best configuration for optimal performance at the lowest possible cost.

                      Designing for speech
All the big companies are making huge investments in AI personal assistants. Amazon has Alexa, Google has Google assistant, Apple has Siri and Microsoft has Cortana to name a few. For most people talking to their devices still feels a bit strange. According to Comscore, 50% of all searches will be made by voice by the year 2020. Today 40% of adults use voice once per day. Designing a natural language interface can be difficult, is the interface supposed to be able to interpret every single nuance of speech and how about slang? Or should we aim more towards forced language and make our users learn how to interact with simple commands?

Well, yeah, there are so many options to store and operate your data in Azure that it is very easy to get lost in the crowd of technologies. The purpose of this session is to give you a glimpse at the scenarios where each of these Azure services will be better-suited than the others.
